Nikon D7000 Price And Performance Reviews

One of the latest hype in dSLR camera world is none other than Nikon D7000 Camera. Bragged to be the best dSLR camera Nikon had ever produced, many people eagerly waiting for the release date of this camera. When it was finally launched in September 2010, many offline and online stores are quickly getting it out-of-stock. Those who fortunate enough to place an early order had played around a bit with it, while the others could only watched them in envy. Now, after the hype is all down, we should be able to clearly see what this camera hold in store or us. This article aims to provide price and performance reviews of Nikon D7000 camera from three perspectives:

The Design
It's considerably smaller and lighter than most dSLR cameras. Actually, Nikon D7000 feels good in most people hands. The viewfinder is slightly smaller than others, however is still sufficient.

The Performance
In order to analyse the performance of Nikon D7000 camera, a comparison with D700 is unavoidable. Being one of the best camera produced by Nikon (in terms of performance and popularity), D700 is continuously being in high demand ever since its introduction to the market three years ago. However, arguably, the quality of photos produced by Nikon D7000 is comparable to D700 in virtually all levels up to ISO 3200. D700 produces a better image in ISO 6400. It's true that the color saturation in D7000 is not as lifelike as in D700; however a little retouch from photo editing software will get it right. In terms of speed, however, D700 is clearly a better one with ability to capture up to 6 fps (frames per second) while D7000 can "only" capture up to 5 fps. However, the video recording capability (Full HD format) in D7000, to some people, will definitely make up for the loss.

The Price
While the definition related to price (ie. expensive and cheap) is relative to each person, the comparison between price and performance (cost benefit analysis) is more clearly defined. So, do someone willing to spend some extra $400-$700 to get a slightly better camera? Some do, while the others don't.
